The ACCUPRO 12184570 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, 3D profiling, and finishing operations on hard and abrasive workpiece materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it offers the rigidity and edge retention needed for demanding cuts. The 1-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 40-degree helix angle to promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. An AlTiN coating adds oxidation resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in dry or high-temperature cutting environments. Four spiral flutes deliver smooth, consistent finishes across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tooling technicians working in CNC machining centers will find this mill well suited to production and precision work alike.
This ball end mill is intended for use in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers where close-tolerance 3D contouring is required. The 1.75-inch length of cut accommodates moderate-depth slotting and profiling passes, while the 1-inch shank diameter provides solid tool-holder engagement. The 4-inch overall length keeps deflection minimal at typical cutting depths. It is commonly specified for mold and die work, aerospace component finishing, and general-purpose hardened-steel machining where tool wear resistance is a priority.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers accepting a 1-inch shank diameter toolholder. Suitable for ER collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and side-lock holders sized for 1-inch straight shanks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing tooling, and verify toolholder runout with an indicator before cutting. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder to minimize deflection and vibration. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.
