The ACCUPRO 12184539 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precise profiling, contouring, and 3D milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this single-end tool features a 0.375 inch diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that improves wear resistance and extends tool life in abrasive materials. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 6-inch overall length, this is an extra-long reach tool suited for deep-cavity milling where standard-length end mills cannot reach. It is installed and operated by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is well suited for mold making, die work, and deep-pocket contouring on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The extra-long 6-inch overall length allows access to deep features without interference from the spindle or tool holder. The TiCN coating makes it appropriate for use on hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, and other ferrous materials where heat and abrasion are concerns. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling commonly found in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter end mill holder, ER collet chuck, or shrink-fit toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before loading or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended insertion depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish on extra-long configurations.
