The ACCUPRO 12184527 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hardened materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention in demanding cutting conditions. The TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive applications. With a 0.3125-inch mill diameter, 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool produces smooth finishes in profiling, contouring, and slot milling operations. The extra-long 6-inch overall length suits deep-cavity and extended-reach setups where standard-length tooling cannot reach. It is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for machining metals including alloy steels, stainless steels, and hardened materials where TiCN coating performance is appropriate. The 40-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in both conventional and climb milling. The extra-long reach makes it particularly useful for deep pocket milling, mold work, and die applications where extended tool projection is required. It fits standard 5/16-inch collets and toolholders and is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills with appropriate spindle speed and feed rate settings.
Designed for use with standard 5/16-inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring an extra-long reach ball end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with proper toolholder torque and runout requirements. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Set spindle speed and feed rate according to the workpiece material and cutting diameter before initiating the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool when edge condition degrades to avoid workpiece damage.
