The ACCUPRO 12184498 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. Built on a micrograin carbide substrate, this single-end tool measures 0.1875 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across the full depth of the flute. An AlTiN coating extends tool life in high-temperature applications by providing oxidation resistance and surface hardness. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for profiling, contouring, and 3D surface milling in materials including alloy steels, stainless steels, titanium, and hardened workpieces. The long-series geometry provides additional reach for deep-pocket and multi-axis work where standard-length tools cannot access the feature. The 3/16-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and shrink-fit toolholders commonly used in precision shop environments. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make this a conventional, direct-replacement configuration for typical CNC setups.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/16-inch round shank via ER collet or equivalent toolholding system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC toolholding practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank to the recommended gauge-line depth in the collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish on a fine-diameter end mill of this size.
