The ACCUPRO 12184487 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and engineered material applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this single-end tool features a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree right-hand helix. The three-flute geometry balances chip evacuation and surface finish, making it well suited for profiling, contouring, and finishing passes where accuracy matters. At 2.5 inches overall length with an extra-long classification, it reaches deeper cavities than standard-length equivalents while maintaining rigidity typical of solid carbide construction. The uncoated finish is suitable for use with cutting fluids or in applications where coating buildup is a concern.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills across tool and die, mold making, aerospace component, and general precision machining environments. Its extra-long reach and ball-nose profile make it particularly useful for 3D contour milling, ramping, and finishing curved surfaces in both roughing-to-finish and finish-only passes. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in production and job-shop settings.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill for use in standard 3/16 inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using an appropriate collet chuck or end mill holder sized for a 3/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe lockout state before loading or changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, as even minor runout significantly affects finish quality and tool life at this diameter. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards for tool clamping torque and RPM settings.
