The ACCUPRO 12184299 is a single-end ball end mill designed for machining contoured surfaces, cavities, and complex 3D profiles in metalworking applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for demanding milling operations. The 0.625 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 2 inch length of cut and a 40-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating provides added surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This end mill suits job shops, production machinists, and CNC programmers running long-reach or deep-pocket milling paths.
This tool is suited for CNC machining centers and manual milling equipment where a long-flute ball end mill is required. The 6 inch overall length accommodates setups that need extended reach into deep cavities or stepped workpieces. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Typical materials include alloy steels, tool steels, stainless steels, and cast iron where TiCN coating provides an advantage in abrasion resistance.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 5/8 inch shank ball end mill holders and collets on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills requiring a long-series, 2-flute solid carbide ball end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout specifications. Secure the 5/8 inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the machine spindle is at a full stop before changing tooling. Follow shop-specific feeds and speeds charts for TiCN-coated carbide end mills when programming cut parameters.
