The ACCUPRO 12184246 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) cutting diameter with a 1.125 inch length of cut and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The AlTiN coating provides high-temperature resistance and extended tool life in hardened materials and high-speed machining environments. With a micrograin carbide substrate, this end mill delivers rigidity and edge retention that general-purpose high-speed steel tooling cannot match. It is a single-end, two-flute design suited for contour milling, profiling, and 3D surface work.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills where tight-tolerance profiling or cavity work is required. The extra-long overall length of 3.0 inches provides extended reach for deep-pocket applications and mold work. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand spiral flute configuration make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on most machining equipment. It is commonly used in tool-and-die shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and precision job shops.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement-style solid carbide ball end mill for use in standard 3/16 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC and manual milling machines with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or powered-down state before changing tooling. Seat the 0.1875 inch shank fully in a matching collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
