The ACCUPRO 12184139 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It measures 0.2969 inches (19/64 inches) in cutting diameter with a 0.5-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. The tool is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide and carries a 40-degree helix angle, which promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting performance. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well suited for aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments.
This ball end mill is used for contouring, profiling, slotting, and 3D surface milling on machining centers and manual mills. The stub-length configuration provides added rigidity, reducing deflection during aggressive cuts. The 5/16-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit toolholders common in CNC machining setups. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional CNC milling applications. It is appropriate for light-to-moderate material removal in precision detail work where ball-nose geometry is required.
Designed as an OEM-style cutting tool compatible with standard 5/16-inch toolholders including ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and side-lock holders used on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and can cause premature tool failure.
