The ACCUPRO 12183918 is a single-end ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, pockets, and complex 3D profiles in metalworking applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention well beyond high-speed steel alternatives. The tool measures 1 inch in diameter with a 1.75-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating reduces friction and improves wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute geometry are standard. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators install this end mill in milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and finishing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The ball nose geometry makes it the right choice for 3D contouring, die cavity work, and finish passes on sculptured surfaces. The 1-inch shank diameter matches standard ER and side-lock toolholders commonly used on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Its micrograin carbide substrate handles interrupted cuts and harder workpiece materials better than standard-grain carbide. Single-end construction keeps costs predictable on high-wear applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1 inch diameter straight shank toolholder.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators using standard collet, ER chuck, or side-lock toolholders rated for the 1 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool; excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
