The ACCUPRO 12183878 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with 6 flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this centercutting tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes in a wide range of profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling applications. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding production environments. With a 3/8 inch mill diameter and a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, it fits standard toolholding systems and is well-suited for both CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this geometry for its balance of rigidity and reach.
This end mill is classified as a long-length tool with a 3-inch overall length, making it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach into pockets, slots, or stepped features. The bright uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for aluminum, brass, copper, plastics, and other non-ferrous materials where coatings are unnecessary or undesirable. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. It is sold individually and packaged as a single unit.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 3/8 inch diameter collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used in CNC machining centers and conventional vertical milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control placed in a safe, locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the toolholder before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, particularly for tight-tolerance finishing operations. Follow machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
