The ACCUPRO 12183860 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and other rigid materials. With a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) cutting diameter and 6 spiral flutes at a 40-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes in demanding applications. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited for production environments. At 1 inch length of cut and 2-3/4 inch overall length, this is a regular-length single-end tool well suited to machining centers and manual mills operated by experienced machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill is appropriate for use in general-purpose milling, slotting, profiling, and peripheral cutting applications. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into workpieces without pre-drilling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional vertical and horizontal milling equipment. It is suited for shops running ferrous and non-ferrous materials where an uncoated micrograin carbide tool is preferred over coated variants for specific material interactions or re-sharpening workflows.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for milling machines accepting a 7/16 inch straight shank, including CNC machining centers and manual knee mills with standard collet or end mill holder systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or changing tooling. Use a calibrated collet or end mill holder sized for a 7/16 inch shank and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer's specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
