The ACCUPRO 12183858 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for high-feed finishing and semi-finishing passes. The 6-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge. At 0.375 inches in diameter with a 0.875-inch length of cut, this end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tight-tolerance work. Licensed machinists and CNC mill operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill fits standard milling applications in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments. The 0.375-inch shank diameter is compatible with ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling commonly found in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. The 2.5-inch overall length and regular-length classification make it practical for general-purpose setups without excessive overhang. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, giving operators flexibility for ramping and helical interpolation without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct procurement end mill for use in standard 3/8-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholding systems on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or holder to stay within the shank diameter tolerance range of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches. Verify tool runout with an indicator after installation before beginning a cut to confirm seating.
