The ACCUPRO 12183740 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life and improving surface finish. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tooling technicians working in CNC machining centers specify this tool for finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and hardened materials.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials where corner radius geometry is required to blend floor-to-wall transitions or meet part print tolerances. The extra-long 6 inch overall length allows reach into deep pockets or stepped features where standard-length tools cannot access. Micrograin carbide construction supports use at elevated speeds and feeds typical in production CNC environments. It fits standard 1/2 inch collets and end mill holders used across vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. Suitable for right-hand cutting applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge line depth and torque the set screw or collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the tool for runout after installation using a dial test indicator before beginning the cut.
