The ACCUPRO 12183731 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), this single-end, center-cutting tool delivers wear resistance and edge stability in demanding cutting environments. The 0.03 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. With a 40-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction, it generates efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This is an extra-long configuration with a 6 inch overall length, suited for reaching deep features or tall workpiece geometry.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for ferrous and nonferrous metal stock removal. The extra-long reach and 1-1/2 inch length of cut make it well suited for deep-cavity milling, multi-pass profiling, and finishing passes on mold, die, and fixture work. The TiCN coating performs well on cast iron, alloy steels, stainless, and hardened materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or automotive machining environments are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines that accept a 1/2 inch shank diameter end mill holder, collet chuck, or shrink-fit toolholder.
Installation of end mills should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Always ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify shank-to-holder contact length meets minimum engagement requirements for the holder type in use. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius under magnification before use to confirm no shipping damage is present.
