The ACCUPRO 12183730 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a controlled edge radius and extended reach. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with titanium carbonitride (TiCN), this tool delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.02-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in demanding applications. With a 1/2-inch diameter, 4-flute geometry, and a 6-inch overall length, it is sized for deep-pocket and long-reach milling where standard-length tools fall short. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills in job shops, tool-and-die, aerospace, and general metalworking environments. The extra-long length type and 1-1/2-inch length of cut make it practical for slotting, profiling, and finishing operations in deeper cavities. The TiCN coating performs well at elevated cutting speeds on steel, stainless, and cast iron. It is a single-end tool, meaning the cutting end is one side only. Machinists and CNC programmers working with tighter radii at the floor of a pocket will find the 0.02-inch radius geometry appropriate for semi-finishing and finishing passes.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/2-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 1/2-inch shank tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the 1/2-inch shank fully into the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before tightening. Inspect the shank for runout with a dial indicator after clamping, and verify corner radius orientation in the tool path offset before beginning a finish pass.
