The ACCUPRO 12183685 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this tool delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in high-speed cutting of hardened steels, stainless steels, and other difficult-to-machine alloys. It measures 5/16 inches in diameter with a 1-1/2 inches length of cut, a 0.06 inches corner radius, and a 6 inches overall length. The 4-flute, single-end, centercutting geometry supports both plunge and peripheral cutting. Machinists and CNC operators install this tool in vertical machining centers and CNC mills for finish and semi-finish profiling operations.
This end mill is suited for shops running CNC vertical mills or machining centers where corner radius geometry is required to reduce stress concentrations at part corners and improve surface finish. The extra-long 6 inches overall length makes it appropriate for deep-pocket milling and extended-reach applications where a standard-length tool cannot reach the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are compatible with conventional CNC spindle setups. It is sold as a single-end tool, meaning the cutting end is used until worn and the tool is then replaced or resharpened.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16 inches straight shank. No specific machine model compatibility was provided by the manufacturer for this SKU.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank in a collet or end mill holder rated for the 5/16 inches shank diameter and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling, following applicable shop safety and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures.
