The ACCUPRO 12183663 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metal and composite materials. It features a 5/16-inch diameter with a 0.015-inch corner radius, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and an overall length of 6 inches, placing it in the extra-long category for extended-reach applications. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a stable cutting action. The bright/uncoated finish is suited for use in non-ferrous metals and some ferrous materials where coating adhesion is not required. Micrograin carbide construction supports edge retention under demanding feed rates.
This end mill is intended for CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills where a corner radius profile is needed to reduce stress concentrations at the base of a milled feature. The 5/16-inch shank diameter matches standard collet sizes. Its extra-long overall length of 6 inches makes it appropriate for deep-pocket milling, cavity work, and applications where standard-length tools cannot reach the workpiece feature. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry directly into the material. Machinists in tool-and-die, mold making, and general precision machining shops are the primary users.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 5/16-inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This tool is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a compatible collet or end mill holder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Verify collet condition and cleanliness before seating the shank to maintain runout tolerances consistent with the specified shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches. Follow the machine manufacturer and shop-specific speed and feed guidelines for carbide tooling in the material being cut.
