The ACCUPRO 12183573 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling applications in metal fabrication and machining. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. With a 1 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length, this is a long-series single-end tool suited for deeper reach cuts where a standard-length end mill falls short. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills for profiling, slotting, and finishing operations.
This corner radius end mill is appropriate for use in production machining environments handling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard metals. The center-cutting design allows plunge entry, which widens its application to pocket milling and ramp entry cuts. The long flute length and 1/2 inch shank make it compatible with standard ER and side-lock toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent performance across high-volume runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 1/2 inch shank end mills in ER collet chucks, Weldon side-lock holders, or equivalent toolholding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or feed per tooth for the workpiece material being machined.
