The ACCUPRO 12183552 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and composite materials. It features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, placing it in the long series category. With four spiral flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding machining environments. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing for both peripheral and plunge cutting. Installation and use are handled by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop settings.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers. The uncoated finish makes this tool a practical choice for applications where re-sharpening is preferred or where coatings are not required for the workpiece material. The long series length of cut supports deeper shoulder milling passes without tool change.
Designed for use in standard 0.5-inch diameter tool holders, collet chucks, and end mill holders on vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers requiring a 0.5-inch shank square end mill.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in machine shop environments. Always ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe mode before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the recommended engagement depth per the holder manufacturer guidelines — do not leave excessive shank overhang. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm concentricity before beginning a cut.
