The ACCUPRO 12183455 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/16 inch diameter with a 0.045 inch corner radius, reducing stress concentrations at the base of milled features and improving surface finish on workpiece corners. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting at higher feed rates. At 4 inches overall length with a 1 inch length of cut, this is a long-reach tool suited for deeper cavity work. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool-and-die professionals on milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is used in precision machining environments where corner radii are required on milled slots, pockets, and profiles. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, supporting both slot milling and pocket milling operations. The bright uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and general-purpose steel applications where coating buildup is not a concern. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and edge retention in demanding cutting conditions. Single-end configuration means the tool is replaced when the cutting end is worn.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting 3/16 inch shank toolholders, collets, or end mill holders.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an energy-isolated state before changing tooling. Verify the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the collet or end mill holder for wear or runout before use, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce dimensional accuracy.
