The ACCUPRO 12183420 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it offers the rigidity and edge retention needed for ferrous and non-ferrous material removal. The 1 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 2 inch length of cut and a 6 inch overall length, making it well-suited for deeper-reach applications where a standard-length tool falls short. Four spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finish. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with centercutting capability, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers on vertical machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for use in production and job-shop environments where extended reach and full slot or peripheral milling of harder materials are required. The long-length classification, 2 inch length of cut at 1 inch diameter, supports shoulder milling, profiling, and full-depth slotting in a single pass. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate is appropriate for applications where regrinding is preferred over coated tooling, or where cutting fluid lubrication is used consistently to manage heat. It is compatible with any spindle or toolholder accepting a 1 inch straight shank.
Designed for use with any standard toolholder or collet chuck accepting a 1 inch straight shank diameter. Shank diameter tolerance is minus 0.0001 inch to minus 0.0004 inch for a precise holder fit.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholder torque and runout procedures for the specific chuck or collet system in use. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify shank engagement depth meets the toolholder manufacturer minimum before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to edge loss from improper handling or interrupted cuts.
