The ACCUPRO 12183351 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling applications in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 5/8 inch diameter, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 0.045 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at milled edges and extends tool life. The TiCN coating provides increased surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool promotes efficient chip evacuation. It is single-end and centercutting, making it suitable for plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling operations. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where corner radius geometry is required to produce a blended fillet at the base of a milled feature. The extra-long 6 inch overall length accommodates deeper workpiece setups and extended reach situations where a standard-length tool cannot reach the cutting zone. The 5/8 inch shank diameter matches common collet and end mill holder sizes found on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Micrograin carbide construction supports tighter tolerances and finer surface finishes in precision machining contexts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/8 inch straight shank end mill holder or collet chuck.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the holder before torquing the collet nut or set screw to the tool holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excess runout will accelerate wear and degrade corner radius accuracy. Follow the cutting tool manufacturer and machine tool OEM guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece material.
