The ACCUPRO 12183290 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations where edge strength and surface finish are critical. The 0.03-inch corner radius reduces chipping at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN, it handles harder workpiece materials with greater wear resistance than uncoated or HSS alternatives. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into material as well as perform peripheral and slot milling. It weighs 0.4 pounds and is suited for use on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills alike.
This end mill is used in metalworking and fabrication environments where tight tolerances and corner integrity are required. The extra-long length of cut at 1-3/4 inches and a 4-inch overall length make it appropriate for deeper pockets and cavities that standard-length end mills cannot reach. It is commonly applied in mold and die work, aerospace components, and precision part manufacturing. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. Machinists and tool-and-die makers working in job shops and production facilities are the primary users.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank end mill in an ER, Weldon, or collet-style toolholder.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Torque the toolholder to the machining center manufacturer's specification using the correct wrench for the holder style. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or damage before seating the tool. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade corner radius tolerance.
