The ACCUPRO 12183262 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metalworking applications. It features a 5/16 inch diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius, a 40-degree helix angle, and a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that extends tool life and reduces built-up edge. With 4 flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this single-end, centercutting tool handles slotting, profiling, and plunge operations. It is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, which provides tighter tolerances and improved wear resistance compared to standard carbide grades.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where an extra-long reach is required for deep-cavity work or tall workpiece features. The extra-long overall length of 4 inches with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut makes it well-matched to mold and die work, fixture machining, and aerospace or precision contract manufacturing environments. The TiCN coating performs well in dry and semi-dry cutting of alloy steels, tool steels, stainless steels, and cast iron. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production settings.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 5/16 inch shank ER or straight-shank collet toolholders commonly used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills requiring a 5/16 inch bore.
This tool is installed by machinists using compatible collet chucks or end mill holders; verify holder bore matches the 5/16 inch shank diameter before mounting. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling, following applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank to the minimum recommended grip depth per the toolholder manufacturer and confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
