The ACCUPRO 12183172 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1 inch mill diameter, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 0.02 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN coating provides added surface hardness and wear resistance, making this tool well suited for harder workpiece materials. Machining professionals and CNC operators use this end mill in production shop and job shop environments.
This end mill is classified as an extra-long length type, with a 6 inch overall length and a 1 inch shank diameter, making it appropriate for deep-cavity milling and extended-reach applications where standard-length tooling cannot reach the workpiece. It is a single-end, centercutting design with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction. The micrograin carbide grade supports tight tolerances and consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Mill diameter tolerance is +0.000000 to -0.002500 inches, and shank diameter tolerance is -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade for 1 inch shank, 4-flute corner radius end mills used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines that accept 1 inch straight shank tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and spindle fully stopped. Ensure the tool holder collet or end mill adapter is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper seating. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for maximum spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
