The ACCUPRO 12183073 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting hardened steels, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth finishes. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into material as well as perform side milling. Machinist and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The corner radius geometry makes it a strong choice for applications where sharp inside corners must be avoided or where part designs call for a defined radius blend. The long-reach configuration extends the usable cutting depth, making it applicable in pocketing and profiling operations where standard-length tools cannot reach. It is used primarily by machinists performing close-tolerance work in CNC milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder systems used in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This tool is installed by a machinist or CNC operator using a standard collet chuck or end mill holder rated for 3/8 inch shank diameters. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tightening to minimize tool deflection and premature wear. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer recommendations for speeds and feeds based on workpiece material.
