The ACCUPRO 12183037 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter and a 0.06 inch corner radius, this tool produces smooth, radiused floor-to-wall transitions that reduce stress concentrations in finished workpieces. The TiCN coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Four right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. Micrograin carbide construction supports tight tolerances and consistent performance across production runs. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production facilities are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill suits long-reach slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where a standard-length tool cannot access the feature depth. The 1-1/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length classify it as a long-series tool, making it appropriate for deeper cavities and stepped features. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, giving operators flexibility in toolpath programming. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard CNC machining center spindle rotation.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16 inch straight shank. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous alloys where TiCN coating is appropriate. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters against the workpiece material and machine rigidity before use.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the 5/16 inch shank fully into a collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the tool for chips, cracks, or coating damage before each use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
