The ACCUPRO 12183022 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and composite materials. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers a 5/16 inch cutting diameter with a 0.01 inch corner radius and a 1-1/8 inch length of cut. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry provides efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality in finish and semi-finish passes. At 3 inches overall length with a 5/16 inch shank, it fits standard collet chucks and milling tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose applications where coating is not required or where regrinding is planned.
This end mill is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC vertical machining centers or manual mills. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentrations at the bottom of milled pockets and slots, extending tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it practical for ramping, helical interpolation, and direct plunge operations. Long-length classification provides additional reach for deeper pocket work where standard-length tools cannot clear fixturing or part features.
Designed as a standard 5/16 inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and milling tool holders accepting 5/16 inch shank tooling on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before loading or removing tooling. Confirm the shank is fully seated and the collet or chuck is torqued to the tool holder specification before operation. Do not exceed the recommended axial or radial depth of cut for carbide tooling at the given diameter to avoid tool fracture.
