The ACCUPRO 12183007 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and hardened materials. It carries a 1/4-inch diameter with a 0.015-inch corner radius, a 1-1/8-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length. The four-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix and right-hand spiral flute direction promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting environments. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and edge retention for demanding operations. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for both plunge and standard milling passes. Machinists and toolroom operators working in CNC machining centers are the primary users.
This end mill suits applications in ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened steels where a defined corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations at part features. It is appropriate for finish milling, slotting, and contour work in both production and toolroom environments. The long-length classification and 2-inch decimal length of cut support reach into deeper pockets and stepped features. The 1/4-inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and ER-style toolholders common on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 1/4-inch collet chucks, ER collets, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an appropriate lockout state per shop safety procedures. Confirm collet or toolholder runout is within acceptable tolerance before operating, as excess runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce dimensional accuracy. Verify cutting parameters — speeds, feeds, and depth of cut — against tooling manufacturer recommendations and workpiece material specifications before beginning a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear at regular intervals and replace the tool before edge failure damages the workpiece or toolholder.
