The ACCUPRO 12182880 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent edge retention and dimensional stability across demanding cutting conditions. The tool features a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating that increases surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge. With a 4-flute spiral configuration and a 40-degree helix angle, it promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a smooth finish on the workpart. Stub length geometry keeps the tool rigid and minimizes deflection in short-reach applications. This end mill is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool suitable for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual milling equipment.
This end mill fits general-purpose and precision milling tasks in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight tolerances are required. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, making it versatile for profiling, slotting, and plunging operations. Stub length reduces overhang and is well-suited for rigid setups where tool stickout must be minimized. It is appropriate for use in job shops, production machining environments, and toolroom applications requiring reliable, repeatable performance on a variety of workpiece materials.
Designed as a direct-fit solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks on CNC machining centers and conventional knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked-out, de-energized state before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retaining nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
