The ACCUPRO 12182856 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide, it offers a 0.315 inch cutting diameter and a 0.4724 inch length of cut, making it well-suited for shallow profiling, slotting, and finishing passes. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With 4 flutes and a stub-length geometry, this end mill provides added rigidity, which helps control deflection in tighter tolerances. It is a single-end, uncoated tool intended for machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production floors, and tool rooms.
This end mill is configured for right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, which is the standard orientation for the majority of vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The stub length profile keeps overhang to a minimum, improving performance in high-feed applications where rigidity is critical. The centercutting design allows plunge milling entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. It is appropriate for use in aluminum, brass, mild steel, and similar materials where an uncoated micrograin carbide tool is a practical choice.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills using a 0.315 inch (8 mm) shank diameter collet or tool holder.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator using an appropriate collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder rated for the 8 mm shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before loading or removing any cutting tool. Confirm runout within acceptable limits after tooling is seated to avoid premature edge wear or dimensional error. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine OEM guidelines for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for the workpiece material.
