The ACCUPRO 12182854 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide with an AlTiN coating, it delivers extended tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. The 0.06 inch corner radius reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge, making it well-suited for finishing floors and walls with blended radii. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a centercutting design, this stub-length tool handles both plunge and lateral cuts. It measures 5/16 inches in diameter, 2 inches in overall length, and carries a 0.5 inch length of cut. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this geometry for tight-tolerance work in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is used in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where a radiused corner is required at the base of a feature. The stub-length configuration reduces deflection and improves rigidity in shorter-reach applications. AlTiN coating makes it particularly effective in dry or semi-dry cutting environments where heat resistance is critical, including hardened steels, alloy steels, stainless, and cast iron. Single-end construction means the tool is replaced rather than flipped when the cutting end is worn.
Designed as a standard shank end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 5/16 inch collet, end mill holder, or equivalent toolholding system.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specifications to prevent pullout. Verify runout at the cutting diameter after installation before beginning production cuts. Cutting parameters including feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed should be selected based on workpiece material and machine rigidity.
