The ACCUPRO 12182840 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The tool measures 0.3125 inches in diameter with a 0.1250-inch corner radius and a 0.5000-inch length of cut. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating provides increased surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive materials. Four right-hand spiral flutes with centercutting capability allow for plunge entry, slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. The stub-length geometry improves rigidity and reduces chatter in shallow-to-mid-depth cuts. This tool is sold as a single-end configuration with a 5/16-inch straight shank.
This end mill is suited for production and job-shop environments where tight dimensional tolerances and edge quality are required on hardened steels, stainless alloys, and cast irons. The TiCN coating performs well in high-friction cutting conditions where tool heat and abrasive wear are primary concerns. Machinists and CNC programmers will find the stub flute length and 40-degree helix angle effective for finishing and semi-finishing passes requiring corner integrity and surface finish control. The 2-inch overall length makes it compatible with standard tool holders and collet chucks without excessive overhang.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 5/16-inch collet chucks or tool holders with a straight-shank bore.
Installation and toolpath programming should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with end mill selection and speeds-and-feeds for carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tools. Use a calibrated torque wrench and appropriate collet or end mill holder to secure the shank within the specified shank diameter tolerance range. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use; a chipped or worn corner radius will compromise dimensional accuracy on finish passes.
