The ACCUPRO 12182805 is a single-end corner radius end mill ground from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN for extended wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the base of milled pockets and profiles. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is a centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional end and peripheral milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills where precise corner geometry is required.
This end mill suits stub-length applications in production machining, mold-making, and precision part manufacturing where tight tolerances and corner radius consistency are critical. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a 1/4 inch shank diameter, making it compatible with standard 1/4 inch collets and end mill holders. The 2 inch overall length keeps deflection low in short-reach setups. Tool changes requiring exact corner radius repeatability benefit from the stated corner radius tolerance of 0.0015 inches.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/4 inch shank corner radius end mills used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with 1/4 inch collet systems or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade the corner radius geometry.
