The ACCUPRO 12182642 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/8 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius and a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, making it well suited for profiling, contouring, and slotting where a blended edge radius is required to reduce stress concentration. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop settings.
This end mill is appropriate for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials where AlTiN coating performance is an advantage. The centercutting geometry supports both peripheral milling and plunge operations. With a 5/8 inch shank diameter and 3-1/2 inch overall length, it fits standard ER or side-lock toolholders used on vertical machining centers and CNC milling machines. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups.
Designed for use in standard 5/8 inch ER collet chucks, side-lock holders, or hydraulic toolholders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. Compatible with right-hand spindle rotation setups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully to the recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to confirm proper seating and avoid premature tool wear.
