The ACCUPRO 12182537 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/8-inch mill diameter, a 7/8-inch length of cut, and a 0.09-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the base of milled profiles. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well-suited for non-ferrous metals and applications where coating buildup is a concern. Machinists and CNC operators typically specify this tool for contour milling, profiling, and pocketing where a defined corner radius is required.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines across job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms. The single-end, centercutting design allows for plunge entry as well as peripheral and face cuts. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in both vertical and horizontal machining setups. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher cutting speeds and feeds compared to standard carbide grades, making it appropriate for hardened materials and tight-tolerance work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 3/8-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked-out state before changing tooling. Insert the shank to the recommended gauge-line depth in the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate corner wear and compromise radius accuracy.
