The ACCUPRO 12182473 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding applications. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smoother surface finishes. An AlTiN coating provides high-temperature hardness and oxidation resistance, making this tool well-suited for dry or near-dry machining at elevated cutting speeds. Machinists and tool and die professionals install this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is used in ferrous metal machining, die and mold work, and general-purpose profiling where a radiused corner is required to reduce part stress risers or meet print specifications. The centercutting geometry allows it to be plunged directly into the workpiece, giving it flexibility for slot milling, pocket milling, and ramping operations. It is a single-end tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high rigidity and wear resistance across a range of steel and alloy applications.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/4 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and compatible tooling systems on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with an indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm cutting parameters against the workpiece material and machine capability.
