The ACCUPRO 12182464 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.045 inch corner radius, producing a controlled radius edge at the bottom of a pocket or slot without a dedicated ball end mill. The TiCN coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction during cutting. With a 40-degree helix angle and four right-hand spiral flutes, this tool promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth finish passes. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention in demanding cut conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use this tool in vertical machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill suits general-purpose profiling, slotting, and pocketing in shops running steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, making it useful for ramping or plunging directly into a workpiece. The 3/4 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length fit standard toolholders in compact VMC setups. Single-end construction means the tool is replaced when the cutting end is worn, keeping setup simple.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for 1/4 inch shank toolholders including collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank. No specific OEM replacement data was provided with this SKU.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with cutting tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces corner radius accuracy. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for set screws or collet nuts, and confirm depth-of-cut and feed rate parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
