The ACCUPRO 12182430 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/16 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius and a 40-degree helix angle, which promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The AlTiN coating extends tool life by providing thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. With 4 flutes and a single-end, centercutting design, this end mill handles both plunge cuts and side milling in a single tool. It is sized for close-tolerance work, with a mill diameter tolerance of +0.000000 to -0.002500 inches.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where tight corner radii and fine surface finishes are required. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth passes in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and high-temperature alloys where AlTiN coatings perform well. The 3/16 inch shank diameter is a direct fit for standard ER and collet-style toolholders commonly used in production and job shop environments. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC setups.
Designed as a standard-shank corner radius end mill for use in ER collets, milling chucks, and other 3/16 inch bore toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Use a torque wrench and the appropriate collet nut wrench when seating the shank in an ER collet system to achieve proper holding force. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tooling changes, particularly for tight-tolerance corner radius work where tool deflection affects finished geometry.
