The ACCUPRO 12182420 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, a 0.01 inch corner radius, and a 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle. The TiCN coating improves wear resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be fed axially as well as radially. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use it for finish profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where a controlled corner break or radius is required on part geometry.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, which lowers the risk of chipping during interrupted cuts or when machining hardened materials. With a 5/8 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length, it fits tight-clearance setups and works well in applications requiring reach into pockets or stepped features. The micrograin carbide substrate supports consistent performance at elevated spindle speeds.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard selection for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter collet or end mill holder. No specific OEM system compatibility was stated in the product data.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, de-energized state before inserting or removing the tool. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matched to the 3/16 inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the tool edge under magnification before use and discard any tool showing chipping, micro-cracks, or coating delamination.
