The ACCUPRO 12182378 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and other hard materials. It features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius and a 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle. The single-end, centercutting design allows for both plunge and peripheral cutting. The bright/uncoated finish suits applications where coating-related dimensional tolerance is a concern. Machined from micrograin solid carbide, this end mill delivers rigidity and edge retention in demanding cutting conditions. It is sized for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and precision tool holding systems compatible with a 1/8 inch shank.
This end mill is suited for finish milling, profiling, and contouring operations where a small corner radius is required to blend surfaces or reduce stress concentrations at the bottom of a cut. The 1/2 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth pocketing in precision components. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace components, medical device manufacturing, and general precision machining in job shops. It is a single-end tool, so it is replaced rather than re-indexed when the cutting edge is spent.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with tool holding systems that accept a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Shank diameter tolerance is -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches for consistent fit in precision collets.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Use a properly sized collet or shrink-fit holder to match the 1/8 inch shank; do not exceed the stated length of cut to avoid deflection or tool breakage. Verify runout after tool installation before beginning a cut, particularly for finish-pass operations where surface quality is critical.
