The ACCUPRO 12182243 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, this tool is classified as extra-long reach, giving machinists access to deep pockets and tall workpiece features. The three-flute, 40-degree helix spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and balanced cutting forces. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life when running at elevated speeds in ferrous and hard materials. Micrograin carbide substrate delivers edge sharpness and wear resistance suitable for demanding cut conditions.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shops, production environments, and tool rooms. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its use to slot milling, ramping, and helical interpolation. Its 0.25-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling common in both vertical and horizontal machining setups. The extra-long length type makes it particularly useful when standard-length end mills cannot reach the required depth of cut.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 0.25-inch bore ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems used on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Verify collet bore and holder bore match the 0.25-inch shank diameter before clamping; use calibrated torque wrenches per toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use — chips or coating damage reduce tool life and surface finish quality. Follow the machine tool builder and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the workpiece material.
