The ACCUPRO 12182242 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide stock and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and thermal protection compared to uncoated alternatives. It features a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length that qualifies it as an extra-long configuration. The 40-degree spiral helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Machinists and CNC operators working with ferrous metals, alloys, and hardened materials will find this end mill well suited to slotting, profiling, and contouring operations.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers where a 0.25-inch straight shank is accepted. The extra-long overall length makes it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach into deep pockets or tall workpiece features. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, eliminating the need for a pre-drilled pilot hole in most operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional spindle-up milling setups.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for any milling machine or CNC machining center equipped with a 0.25-inch shank collet, end mill holder, or compatible tool-holding system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer before torquing the drawbar or collet nut. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce surface finish quality.
