The ACCUPRO 12182234 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a 6-inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for extended reach work. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous alloys, stainless steels, and hardened materials. Three spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high cutting speeds and maintains edge integrity under demanding conditions. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in production and job shop environments.
This end mill suits vertical and horizontal milling centers, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills where extended reach is needed to access deep pockets, cavities, or step features. The extra-long 6-inch OAL and 3-inch length of cut make it appropriate for deep-pocket milling where standard-length end mills cannot reach. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are compatible with conventional spindle rotation on most machining platforms. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 1-inch straight shank with a shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 / -0.0004 inches. Compatible with standard ER, hydraulic, shrink-fit, and Weldon-style toolholders sized for 1-inch shanks.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify toolholder runout and clamp torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before cutting. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
