The ACCUPRO 12182163 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it offers a 3/16 inch cutting diameter with a 3/8 inch length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. The 3-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes at higher feed rates. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into workpiece material without a pre-drilled starting hole. This is a stub-length tool, providing added rigidity in tight setups. It ships uncoated and is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and light contouring operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 3/16 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard collet systems of that size. The stub-length configuration reduces deflection in short-reach applications, which is especially useful when working in confined pockets or thin-wall part features. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional and climb milling on most CNC platforms.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 3/16 inch collet holders and end mill adapters on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar machine tool platforms requiring a stub-length square end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth to minimize runout and prevent pull-out under load. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
