The ACCUPRO 12182159 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.125 inch diameter with a 0.25 inch length of cut and a 1.5 inch overall length. The three-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and edge retention at high cutting speeds. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working with vertical machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for stub-length milling operations where rigidity is critical and deflection must be minimized. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on CNC machining centers. The centercutting design allows plunge cuts as well as peripheral and slot milling. It is commonly used in job shop, toolroom, and production environments on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous alloys where an AlTiN coating delivers performance advantages over uncoated carbide.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/8 inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut orientation before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use and replace the tool when edge condition degrades to avoid poor surface finish or workpiece damage.
