The ACCUPRO 12181984 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metal and composite materials. It features a 5/16-inch diameter, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and a 0.03-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding applications. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. With a 40-degree helix angle and a bright, uncoated finish, this end mill is well suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where close-tolerance profiling and slotting are required. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production environments, and maintenance machining.
This end mill is used in applications that require a controlled corner radius on pockets, slots, and profiles to prevent sharp-corner stress risers in the finished workpiece. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, giving the operator flexibility in tool paths without requiring a pre-drilled entry point. The 5/16-inch shank diameter matches standard collet and end mill holder sizes common on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC routers. The 2-1/2-inch overall length keeps rigidity high while providing adequate clearance for most standard workholding setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and conventional mills accepting a 5/16-inch shank end mill holder or collet.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing any end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to ensure tool life and dimensional accuracy.
