The ACCUPRO 12181860 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and other hard materials. It features a 1-inch mill diameter, a 1-3/4-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, making it a regular-length tool suited for standard slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The 3-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle improves chip evacuation and surface finish in a range of materials. Micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance. This is a centercutting design, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpart. Installed and used by machinists and tool and die professionals in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is appropriate for general-purpose milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. It is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where a 1-inch shank is required. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on most horizontal and vertical spindle setups. The uncoated finish is typical for applications where lubrication or coolant is supplied at the cutting zone, or where coating is not required by the workpiece material.
Designed as a standard 1-inch shank square end mill compatible with milling chucks, collet holders, and end mill holders sized for 1-inch straight shanks on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm correct spindle direction before engaging the workpiece.
