The ACCUPRO 12181770 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter with a 3 inch length of cut and a 6 inch overall length, classifying it as an extra-long reach tool suited for deep-pocket and extended-reach applications. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With 2 flutes and a spiral flute geometry, this end mill balances chip clearance with rigidity. It is an uncoated, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow standard CNC and manual milling machine convention. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunging in applications requiring extended reach into deep cavities or tall workpiece features. The extra-long 6 inch OAL makes it appropriate for aerospace, mold and die, and general metalworking operations where standard-length tooling cannot reach. The micrograin carbide substrate supports cutting in a broad range of materials including aluminum, steel, stainless, and cast iron at appropriate feeds and speeds. It is sold individually as a single-end tool.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines with a standard 3/4 inch collet, end mill holder, or milling chuck capable of accepting a 3/4 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly given the extra-long reach of this tool which increases deflection sensitivity at elevated cutting depths or feeds.
