The ACCUPRO 12181762 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, this is an extra-long configuration suited for deep-cavity work and extended-reach applications. The tool features a 40-degree helix angle and a spiral flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This end mill is installed and operated by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill fits standard 0.5 inch collets and tool holders used in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The extra-long overall length of 6 inches makes it well suited for mold work, deep-pocket profiling, and applications where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry directly into the workpiece, adding versatility for slotting, profiling, and ramping operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for the majority of CNC milling setups.
Designed for use with standard 0.5 inch bore collets and end mill holders in CNC vertical machining centers and conventional milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in an e-stop state before changing tooling. The shank should be inserted to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or tool holder and torqued per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to avoid premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
